Why spend so much on harmful chemicals when you can get twice the results in literally half the price? So let’s go back to our roots with a natural beauty product that nourishes our skin from deep within- almond oil. Remember how our moms or grandmothers used to soak almonds overnight and peel them the next morning? Now, let’s use almond oil to get a youthful and radiant skin.

Why use almond oil?

Well, most of us know that almonds and hence, almond oil, is full of Vitamin E. But did you know that it is also packed with the goodness of Vitamin A, Zinc, and Omega-3 Fatty Acids? Vitamin A smoothes fine lines, whereas Omega-3 Fatty Acids may help prevent premature ageing. Vitamin E may help prevent cell damage, and zinc heals facial scars. Also, almond oil is not heavy or sticky and is suitable for all skin types.

When not to use it

If you’re allergic to nuts or a patch test on your wrist shows redness, then it is best to avoid this oil. It is also best to consult your skin doctor if you do happen to have a history of skin allergies or problems. Please note: For people with oily skin, any sort of oil in too much quantity could prove to worsen their skin type. For those with dry skin, it can prove to be a boon.

How to use it

As makeup remover

Take a pea-sized amount of almond oil in your palm and rub it gently all over your face. Leave it on for about 5 minutes or so. Now take a moist cotton ball and remove makeup from your face. Remember not to rub harshly.

As exfoliator

Mix 1 tablespoon of sugar with about a teaspoon of almond oil. This will help you get rid of dead skin cells and lend a glow to your face.

As under eye cream

Massage your under eyes area with some almond oil to hydrate the sensitive skin under eyes. When applied to eyelashes, this magic oil is also said to make them grow longer.
